Didj & Harp

Posted by Sandy on 14th October 2009 in Events

Yesterday I went to the Jam night at the Oval Tavern in Croydon with my good friends, obviously 5 believers.

I had a jam with Mildred the loop sampler and ‘Buffalo’ Bill Smith who was running the jam night. Bill is a great blues harp player who plays with a lot of bands including o5b.

OOTO
OOTO was a blast last year despite yours truly forgetting the power supply for “Mildred”.
This year I will be playing just before “talk about…POP MUSIC!” “M”
aka Robin Scott.
I’m booked to play around 8pm on Friday 18th on the OOTOpia Stage. Come along and blow jelly babies down copper tubing at me.
Other acts appearing:
Banco De Gaia, Eat Static, The Dolmen, Subsource, Cry Tuff, Drookit Dogs, Unity And Devision…
Directions, ticket pricing and further info can be found in “Upcoming Performances.”

Didge Head Radio Festival – Ahhh

Posted by Sandy on 11th August 2009 in Events

What a great event, thanks to Gerry and his team for organising it.

My performance on the Sunday was well received and if it looked as if I was enjoying it -that’s because I was.

A big shout out to didj contemporaries from past and present and the folk who support me : Peter and Ivanka (did I spell that right?) Jackie and James, John Brad and ‘Buckley’, Phil Mordecai, Colin from Aboriginal Arts, Serious Sticks John, ‘Musical Mud’ Michelle, Aldaman, didgeridoo Pete, Gavin Blench, Sika, Antic Earthworks Ant, all the Kangaroo Moon posse. ‘Steve’ and ‘Smokey’ (the dog) -- I hope things get sorted out for you.
Here’s a clip of me playing an impromptu piece next to Aboriginal Arts Colin’s stall.
